ANUSARN BUILDING

Unique historical building with a charming community in Sanpakoi Area

ANUSARN INTRO
90 year old historical building developed in Sanpakoi, Chiang Mai

Anusarn Building is a historic structure that has stood alongside the history of the Sanpakoi area for a long time. It was designed by Luang Anusarn Suntorn (the progenitor of the Chutima-Nimmanhaemindda family), a prominent Chiang Mai businessman who advanced trade and modernized the city at that time. The building is a two-story reinforced concrete structure mixed with ancient wood, completed in 1934 by local craftsmen. The building features a soft white color in colonial style, influenced by Western architecture. It is located in an area named Sanpakoi, filled with Khoi trees, which is the origin of the area's name. The property stretches across several units along Charoen Muang Road, a significant route connecting the eastern side of the Ping River via the Nawarat Bridge directly to Thapae Road, leading into the city center. This area is thus renowned as another important commercial district that has grown alongside the people of Chiang Mai.

Next Stop : Fukuoka

On the evening of August 7th, the Anusan building in Sanpakoi was filled with the rich atmosphere of Japanese culture at the “Next Stop: Fukuoka” event. Attendees were invited to explore Fukuoka—Japan’s hub of innovation and start-ups—through authentic cuisine, creative workshops, and memorable activities.   The event featured hands-on experiences like origami, furoshiki wrapping, and kendama, allowing everyone to connect deeply with Japanese traditions. One of the most heartwarming highlights was the performance by students from Nawaminthrachutit Payap School, who brought the spirit of Japan to life through energetic taiko drumming and expressive dance.   The evening concluded with a stunning display of simulated fireworks, leaving every guest with a beautiful and lasting memory.   From Fukuoka to Sanpakoi… the distance means little compared to the feeling. Thank you for bridging two cultures so beautifully. And a heartfelt thank you to Colive Fukuoka and Alt_Coliving, the ones behind all these unforgettable moments.
